Car amplifier?

I have an 1800 watt amplifier, powering 2 subwoofers. My amlifier is in my trunk. Whenever my amplifier is putting out too much power or receives too much power from the deck I blow a fuse in the amp. I have built in controls in my deck to avoid overpowering the amp and blowing a fuse. However with the amp in the trunk i can't see when it has reached its maximum level and begins to peak. Is there a device i can install that would run from my amplifier to the front of the car that will allow me to moniter the output levels of my amplifier?

If you have the gain set right in the first place....no worries.

The purpose of the gain is to match the signal volts RMS coming from the source (CD player, etc.) to the input of the amp.

You'll need a multi-meter (AC voltmeter), Microsoft Excel and a way to burn an audio CD from an MP3.

I have a factory amplifier in my car but I am installing an aftermarket deck. People are saying I need wiring done to bypass my amplifier. But why, my stock one is good, why can't I connect it to my new deck.

Sort of think of it as a battery but not for your car, for you speakers.
Lets say you have a remote control car. The battery makes all the parts work. An amp is like that. But remember its not a real battery. It simple gives power. You could even say its like a mini engine like a car engine. The engine of a car makes it go forward with the help of other things. The amp makes the speakers work with help from other things such as, car battery, alternator etc.

What is the difference between an internal and external car amplifier?
My car's (2004 Saab 9-3) amplifier is destroyed from water damage. The dealership is trying to charge me $1K+ for a new internal amp. What are my options here? Would I be able to purchase an aftermarket amp for less? Would I need a new headunit? I'm really pretty unaware as to these things...

an internal amp is built in to your system. an external amp you 'plug in' to your system.

think of it like a computer. you either have a cd drive that you have to take your computer apart to get to (internal) or you can buy one that plugs into the USB port and use (external).

we know that car amplifier use 12v of current.
i saw a forum that you need a 12v 100A converter in order to power your car amp or else something will damage. I google some 220v to 12v converter, some converters are 7.5A some 0.1A. so what specification is the safest to use?

Look at the fuses on the amp. Total up the numbers on the fuse (X) and find a supply that is 13.8 volts DC with X amperes of current.

Look to spend some money for one.
