• The Fox River Grove Boys in blue Department, in conjunction with the McHenry County Sheriff's narcotics and canine units, arrested two Fox River Grove men on several dope charges Thursday morning, after executing a search guarantee at their home in the 100 block of Beachway Drive. During the search, which occurred at 10 a.m., police officers discovered 90 grams of cocaine, a .22-caliber search, ammunition, four grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and $1,091 in liquidate - the drugs had a street value of $3,500, police said. Arrested were Benjamin J. Dynek, 20, and Jeffrey M. Henrikson, 20, both of the 100 hamper of Beachway Drive. Both were charged with unlawful possession of a controlled material with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of a controlled haecceity and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. Dynek also was charged with misdemeanor obtain of marijuana. Henrikson faces additional misdemeanor charges of illicit possession of a firearm and firearm ammunition without a Firearm Proprietress's identification card. Both men are being held at the McHenry County lock-up and are awaiting a bond hearing this morning. Fox River Grove patrol had been investigating the house since Feb. 6, the day they received a complaint about remedy activity at the apartment complex.

can someone tell me of a radar detector that really works? i travel a lot and i need to fly down the highway sometimes so i really need a dependable one.
the four BEST radars in no particular order are the Escort Passport 8500 X50, the Valentine One (V1), and the Beltronics RX65 and the STi.
Do not rely on radar detectors 100 percent of time even with these. Cops use instant on radar that gets your speed quick and you'll radar will pick it up too late to slow down. Always use a "rabbit" (follow another speeding car!!) A rabbit sets off instant on traps first so your radar can pick it up.
To add further protection against laser, get a laser jammer. Not easy to pick the right one and not easy to install but its indispensable for jamming the cops laser gun so you have time to slow down. The radars have laser detection but its just as good as warning you to pull over.

Why does my radar detector go off when I get near a school bus?

If I pass a school on the road, my radar detector starts to go crazy. Do they have some sort of radar emitting device specifically designed to make those with radar detectors go for their first instinct and slow down when it chirps? Or is it some sort of GPS (or something else) that they have,and having radar detectors go off is merely an attractive coincedence?

I DO KNOW WHY!!!! Police departments put old radar guns/ or now refered to as a radar drone. In school buses and in thes construction signs etc. To get detector users to slow down. Point being you get an alert you are more likely to slow down

I'm on my third Escort detector (over 20+ year period). Always been happy with them (a bit expensive). They have Passport & Solo -- I get the one that is cordless, I think that is the Solo.

I recently got transferred to the middle east, I have a radar detector that worked very well in the US but has failed every time in this country. What is the problem?
Police radar guns use different radar bands (frequencies) in various countries. Many countries outside the US use the same bands that are used in the US, but as you've found, some countries use different bands. Better radar detectors cover more police radar bands and will work in more countries. Some radar detectors, like the Valentine One, for instance, can be programmed to work in countries outside the US. You don't mention what kind of radar detector you are using, so I can't tell you much more about it.
LASER frequencies are the same around the world. Most radar detectors detect laser, but you only have .2 seconds (2 tenths of a second) to slow down after your radar detector alerts to laser. That makes a radar detector pretty pointless for detecting laser. If you are concerned about laser, you'll need a laser jammer (also legal in most states). Any advice on buying a radar detector? Any specific brand better than another, or anything special to look for? Also, are they considered 'legal' or 'illegal'. Thank you!
They are considered legal in some states and illegal in others. If they were illegal everywhere, my local stores such as bestbuy and circuit city would not be selling those. So it depends on what state you live in. Funny thing is that in some states they might be legal, but its illegal to have things hanging off the windshield so they do become illegal. As for the other part of your question, which one is better, i personally dont know but here is the thing, those radar detectors dont work as well as people think they do. They will give you false alarms and very little time to respond to real ones. Just keep in mind if the detector "sees" a cop, the cop sees you so alot of my friends who have those still get tickets lol.
