A man convicted in the 2001 murders of a Comprehensive Forks father and son was trying to build a case for an application Wednesday, testifying that jurors saw and heard the metal leg shackles he was required to endure during his trial in June.
Billy Joe Aguero’s attorney, Ben Pulkrabek, requested the hearing so that issues on the shackles could be on the record as the appeal goes forward. Prosecutor Jason McCarthy argued that Pulkrabek was breaking the rules by troublesome to supplement the record.
During the trial, Aguero and his co-defendant, Joseph Moncada, wore suits and ties but were shackled at the ankles. Officials made efforts to keep the jurors from seeing the restraints, all things considered so they wouldn’t be prejudiced in reaching verdicts.
David Dusek, who represented Aguero during the experimental, testified Wednesday that he and Moncada’s attorney positioned boxes and briefcases around the defense index in an attempt to block jurors’ views of their clients’ leg shackles.

Anyone know the name of the part that shackle bolts to on a chevy pick up?

1988 chevy pickup. I need to replace the part that holds the shackle at the end of the leaf spring to the frame. The shackle bolts into it, and this part looks to be rivited to the frame.
what are pros and cons of getting a shackle reverse kit on my 94yj?

I am not sure what all of the cons are, and I have seen a few things talked about that I didn't know about. Like transfer case problems.
"A Jeep with a shackle reversal and arched springs will suffer from more front end dive during braking than a non reversed Jeep. The reason is similar to the reason for the improved highway ride. When the brakes are applied the tire is effectively pulled hard to the rear of the Jeep by the braking force. On a Jeep with arched springs and a shackle reversal the rearward pull will cause the springs to flatten out or compress. The compression from the tire pulling back combined with the forwards weight transfer that normally happens during braking cause the nose of the Jeep to drop more than a non shackle reversed jeep."

Preferable in Ohio...but if they ship and have a good price...we'll work with that too...
If your talking about the leaf spring shackles and bushings you can get them at any Ford dealership for about 40 to 50 bucks a piece.

Putting a shackle lift on a jeep cherokee?

If i lift it about 3" will i need new brake lines, shocks, etc?
What about new spring bushings? Also, the kit is at advance auto for only $15. Is that too cheap?
3" lift, should affect other components much.
rear brake lines can be relocated by just unbolting the line hooked to the right side, and bend it down.
on the rear, make sure, and i mean make sure, if you use shackles in the back leaf, your pumpkin will turn up, and cause drive shaft vibration. if you get a 3" shackle, you will raise the jeep 1.5 ", and the drive shaft will vibrate unless if you lower the front of the leaf spring.
dodge dakota truck shackles will fit your cherokee and give 1"lift. while there, get either dodge dakoda or dodge ram 100-150 rear shocks. they are about 3-4" longer than cherokee.
on the front, you cad a coil spacer, or get a different spring (get a grand cherokee with the v8 coil) they are thicker, and will give you a stiffer ride and 2 " lift.
you can also get more coil spacers for the front to get 3"
bump steer is not that bad at 3", but be careful.
the other thing to do in the front will be longer shocks ( either get a 2" screw on extender from autozone, ) or make a lowering bracket that fit the top of the shock.
once the jeep is raised, your front tires will toe in, so extend the tie rods to fix the alignment.
at 4". your front drive shaft will bind. (if you have a 4.0 (np231 TC) you can manage, but if 2.8gm motor with NP207) smaller drive shaft, the cv joint on the drive shaft will bind and brake.\
i have 2 cherokees, and the red one had 2" then 4" then 28" (yes 28" lift ) and ow at 6" lift.
