Honda tweaks Odyssey's winning style San Francisco Chronicle (blog)

Honda will feature the fourth generation of its popular Odyssey minivan to sell this fall, and if it follows the form of the concept model introduced at the current Chicago auto show, it will have a much sportier appearance.

The roof of the concept, which Honda said offers a “lustrous and distinctive styling direction” for the new model, is more steeply raked toward the nurse than the current Odyssey, which was introduced for 2005 and given a midcycle mini-makeover for 2008.

With the ongoing frugality of the automakers in response to the recent huge declines in auto sales, it's stern to imagine the production model of the new Odyssey being much different from the concept.

It adapted to to be that concepts often were wild exercises in styling that seldom found their way into the genuine world. But that's not happening so much these days, especially considering how high-priced it is to design and to build a concept.

The automakers aren't wasting those efforts on cars that aren't ordinary enough to make it into showrooms, and the Odyssey we saw in Chicago, concept or not, should be almost place-on to what we'll get this fall.

Is it illegal to have off road lights(roof mounted) on while driving on the highway?

I am considering some off road lights to mount on the roof of my truck. Wondering what laws there are regarding how those lights can be used on public roads, if at all.

Yes it is illegal. These lights would blind the on coming cars making it hard for them to see the road. A car's headlights are precision engineered to project a beam pattern that avoids the angel towards the other driver's eyes. Believe it or not the same model of car that is made for england has different headlights than ones made for the US because they drive on the other side of the road.

You can have the lights mounted but you can't use them on the road. In some states you may be required to cover them while not in use.

After doing some work on my radio, wires touched and now my door locking system does not respond to the master lock and also my roof light does not function, what could have caused them to stop gunctioning and what could i do to repair it. Thank you

You probably have a blown fuse. Check the fuses in the interior fuse box as well as any fuse box under the hood. If you don't have a fuse diagram, here's a guide to checking fuses with a multimeter:

Can I run my truck through the car wash with off road lights mounted to the roof? Will it damage them?

I've got a mildly lifted 2007 Nissan Xterra that I want to mount a light bar with 4 off road lights with the roof rack. My Xterra is my daily driver and I use it to advertise my mortgage business, and it's black, so it gets dirty easily. Since it needs to look clean for advertising purposes, I'm constantly running through a car wash (prefer the car wash with the brushes). Will I damage my truck or my lights if i go through the car wash with my off road lights?

Not as long as the truck is not too tall for the car wash
