Long Construction Work Hours for West Thames Tire Swing Park Needed DNAinfo

BATTERY PARK CITY— The month of February didn’t only cover downtown in snow, it also put the construction of the Route 9a West Thames Woodland behind schedule, forcing workers into longer hours and weekends.

The log-setting weather prevented workers from completing the estimate to schedule, and after pressure from community members and advocacy, they'll be working false shifts and possibly 24 hours a day through the weekends until they grab up.

New York State Department of Transportation Officials briefed the Battery Park City Committee that on or about April 1, depending on the brave, the workers would like to go to double shifts or possibly 24 hours a day in behest to meet the Memorial Day completion deadline.

But the non-stop exertion has residents, such as Benjamin Keller, who bought a home in the neighborhood with his wife-é less then two years ago, worried about the noise.

what kind of paint can I use on my lather spair tire cover?

I have a spair tire on the back of my bronco. I purchased a lether tire cover and I want my grandchildern to paint some flowers on it. I will always be out side in all weather.

I doubt it's real leather, it may be vinyl. You can use any good acrylic paint for that. For better protection, consider spraying the whole thing once it's done with a clear vinyl paint.

How many right turns does it take for a Honda CR-V's tire cover to revolve 360 degrees?

Everyone knows that the older CR-V (2006 and previous) had a tire cover on the back. It seems to turn only when you make a right turn. How many times do you have to turn before it returns to it's normal upright state?
Assume that you were able to consistantly take right hand turns at the same velocity and angle of attack. Assume all outside variables are constant in such a way that it would turn the same amount every time.

Okay, this is an odd question, and seems to be like asking "how many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop?"

You may never know. There will be different variables, such as the degree of the turn, the speed the turn was taken, and the incline of the vehicle itself. that's to say the cover is even capable of rotating a full 360 degrees.

My suggestion...go drive a CRV and have someone follow you :)


Given the addition information, I'm going to assume it'll rotate approximately 5 degrees per turn. Each turn being on flat ground, and a 90 degree turn at maybe 5mph which is typical from a stop sign. All I really need to now is how much it'll rotate each turn, and with the estimate of 5 degrees, you'd be making 72 turns before it's to the normal upright state.

Question about spare tire cover and paint?

My grandparents asked me to paint something on the back of their vinyl spare tire cover, I ended up using a acrylic latex pain, and after 3 days it is still sticky. What is the best way to either remove this piant, or make it stop sticking? And if I have to remove it, what kind of paint would it be best to use over vinyl? Or should I just replace the tire cover?

Latex is water based, water should remove it. Maybe hot soapy water. You can buy vinyl paint.

How do I get the spare tire Cover off of my 2006 Toyota Rav4?

The pressure light came on for the tires, and we know that the back tire is the one that needs some air in it...but the molded covering on the spare just wont budge! We looked in the manual and it says to pull some latch, that is non existent, and it will come right off. Please help us! That freakin' light is so annoying.

There are two different types of spare tire covers for the Rav's. One is a fully-hard spare tire cover that has a latch and spot for a lock on it. If you have this, look under the spare when the door is open and you should see a silver latch. You flip it open and it loosens the hard surround so that you can pull it off the tire.

The second type is an elastic cover. You can tell it is this type if you have a black soft "pleather" around the area closest to the back of the car. If it is this type, you can reach behind the tire by the top of the door and pull up on the elastic while pulling back on the cover it will release the spare tire cover.
