Road Test Review: 2010 Chromed Ram 2500 Crew Cab PickupTrucks.com

Show trucks are built to deploy attention, and the 2010 Mopar Chromed Ram 2500 Company Cab 4x4 doesn't fail to attract legions of snooping onlookers and gushing admirers, even when slightly out of its element.

Built to stimulate the Ram's upscale Laramie trim level and to hype a large variety of Chrysler's aftermarket accessories, the Chromed Ram looked like a stand up for and blended in perfectly with glitzy Las Vegas when it debuted at the 2009 SEMA Show . With a 2-inch vanish kit and 35-inch tires, the Chromed Ram has the stance and presence of a show contact, but with the humble roots of a production vehicle. Excessive, perhaps, but not showy. Practical? Well, let's see about that.

I took the Ram away from its comfortable showroom adjoining and put it squarely in the middle of a harsh, muddy desert. The trade: travel to the off-roading insanity known as the King of the Hammers step lively and shuttle around the 135-mile course.

Once again, the Chromed Ram drew more than its pay out of groupies. Every time I pulled in the middle of HammerTown, the Move aside faithful arrived to check out the custom interior, skin at the Cummins diesel under the hood and give the color-keyed ardently tonneau a playful rubdown.

3" body lift on 97 chevy tahoe with 2 1/2" suspension; pros and cons? will it clear 35x12.50 tires?

hey y'all, gotta quick question: i got me a 97 chevy tahoe with 2 1/2" in susp. lift. i was just thinkin about givin it a body lift because i felt an upgrade to 6" suspension lift was too expensive. i dont mud or offroad in this rig, so the wheels tires and lifts are just for the looks. so would it be okay to get the body lift? will it clear 35X12.5 tires? any brake line extensions or differnt shroud covers? or shoud i just invest in another susp. lift? would the body lift cost just as much as the susp. lift? love to hear back from you guys...thanks.

As long as you're not going to be putting the truck subject to a lot of twisting or angles you should be good. The main downside to a body lift is that, like everything else, they can break. Just be careful if you ever do decide to take it out mudding.

Anyway, I don't know about the tire sizes, but I would imagine that it'd fit 35's fine. Especially since it's just for looks, make sure you get the cap guards for your wheel-wells and, if the frame is showing, paint it. You don't have to paint the whole frame unless you're wanting a show car, but just grab either some spray paint, or go a little more expensive and shell out the cash for some POR-15 or a similar substance.

I have a 2007 Wrangler with a 2.5 lift and 35X12.5 tires I'm trying to figure out what size of a jack..?

do I need?? thanks!

Get the 60" hi lift as every one else stated. I have the 48 in as well with a 6.5 in lifted cherokee, works good for in the garage, but on the trail you need a bit larger one.

I've ordered a 07 4door and want to put a lift and bigger tires on?

I'm using a 2.5 inch teraflex lift, and want to put 35x12.5x17 tires on what do I have to do to the rest of the car to make sure everything is fine? I'm putting a performance chip in which I know helps with the speedometer issue but is there anything else I need to know? And doing minimal off roading just maybe hills no rocks.

Good luck with 35 inch tires. The new wranglers still use Dana 35s and 35 inch tires are to big for that axle. Unless you upgraded to the Dana 44. If so.... then good choice. Did you upgrade to the 4.10 gears too? I hope so. If your didn't you're gonna loose hp and mpg. You might wanna check and see if Dana is making more gear options for your 07 Wrangler....that's if you didn't already upgrade from the factory.

Will big tires on the back make your speedometer faster or slower?

I orignally had 16.5's on the back of my truck now I have 35x12's on there will this make speedometer read faster or slower ? doesnt have to be exact just slower or faster although it would be nice if you could tell me how much it will be off THANKS!

Your speedometer will say you are going slower than you actually are. It might say 55 and you will be doing 60.

How big can i go... truck tires?

I have a 98 dodge Ram with a 5.5 inch fabtech lift on it; i just recently put a set of 33x12.50 pro comps on it. However these tires just dont cut it; i need a set of tires that are going to fill out my fender wells better! ive been told i could go as big as a 38x14.50 but im hesitant to think i can go that big. I was thinkin maybe around a 35x12.50. Please help
